Shortsleeve Wish List Jersey

"Wish List" story which is quoted on the back of the jersey:

"I wish you could have been there for the sun and the rain and the long hard hills. For the sound of a thousand conversations scattered along the road. For the people laughing & crying & remembering at the end.

But mainly, I wish you could have been there."

Choose Your Charity:$40 from each jersey sale goes to the charity of your choice.  We are continuing to partner with various non-profit organizations in Austin and around the world.  Our partner organizations are as follows:

American Diabetes Association   The American Diabetes Association is leading the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fighting for those affected by diabetes. The Association funds research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; delivers services to hundreds of communities; provides objective and credible information; and gives voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes. Founded in 1940, our mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. For more information visit www.diabetes.org.

Planet Cancer  Young adults with cancer slip into a lonely no-man's land. Too old for the instant community of a children's hospital, they still don't fit in with the over-50 community that overwhelmingly populates adult cancer wards. Because young adults with cancer are a relatively small group, the difficulty of finding peer support is increased exponentially, forcing many to deal in isolation with issues specific to this age and stage of life: dating with cancer, disclosure to a potential employer, long-term insurance issues, moving back home, loss of fertility, or having to quit school or a newly launched career. Planet Cancer exists so that no young adult will have to endure such isolation again. For more information visit www.planetcancer.org Charter Member 2006 Livestrong Young Adult Alliance.

Colin's Hope  Colin's Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates and supports programs that aid in preventing children from drowning. Despite numerous sources for water safety, the number of children who drown per year is staggering. Colin's Hope of saving children from drowning is being achieved through increased water safety awareness and improved standards throughout the community.  For more information visit www.colinshope.org

Medals4Mettle Medals4Mettle (M4M) is a non-profit organization founded in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2005. Its mission is to celebrate and reward the individual and collective courage of all human beings by facilitating the gifting of marathon finisher’s medals from marathoners to people who have demonstrated similar mettle, or courage. The recipients can be any age and might have exhibited such mettle by dealing with disease, handicaps or any similar challenge. Marathon runners around the world, and others who have won medals, give their medals to Medals4Mettle. Then our nationwide network of physicians and others award these medals to those who might not be able to run a marathon, but are in their own marathon to continue to live their life. As marathoners run through the streets, large crowds cheer the runners for their effort. Medals4Mettle lets these runners, healthy enough to compete in such an event, to return the cheers to those who have supported them. For more information visit www.medals4mettle.org

Capital of Texas Team Survivor Capital of Texas Team Survivor (CTTS) was formed in 1995 by four brave women who jumped out of their water exercise class into a full triathlon. CTTS offers free educational exercise programs for women of all fitness levels in every stage of cancer treatment and recovery. These inspirational programs allow women to regain control of their bodies, their health and their lives. For more information visit www.teamsurvivoraustin.org

The Wright House Wellness Center The Wright House Wellness Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization assisting persons living with or at-risk for HIV/AIDS, Cancer and Hepatitis C in a 10-county area (Travis, Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Llano, Hays, and Williamson).  The Center offers two programs: Disease Management and Disease Prevention and Education. AIDS Charity Organization For some reason this seems to be the hardest one to choose, interesting since it is how this all started, with us selling the jerseys to raise funds to do the AIDS rides around the country in 2000.  We are spending a lot of time researching organizations and events that are making a difference in the lives of those infected and affected by this disease.  We want a far reaching organization, perhaps even global.  We will be making this decision soon, so the money can begin helping.  Stay tuned for our announcement of this organization.
